got up today on the right side of the bed,
for once haha.
went grocery shopping
and made dinner
something about going out and gathering supplies
then coming home and cooking for 3 hours straight
is so satisfying.
like u know
hunting and gathering
but at my local Safeway instead of the bush
making garlic bread has so many good memories associated
queenscliff with gi and trace
queenscliff again with xiang
bri's place from ages 10 till 15
yummmmmmm
but decided to go with green onion bread today
wasnt sure how to work it
but i loved the result
2 cups plain flour, caster sugar, sea salt, knead, let it sit for an hour, mix with oilve oil and finely sliced green onion, place in tray and dust with milk and egg yolk. bake for 45 minutes.
served it with truffle olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salted butter and Syahir's recipe: crushed garlic and rosemary infused oilve oil
TAH DAH
i am bad at following recipes, explains why i m really bad at desserts
so i usually try to create my own dishes
sometimes it fails
but luckily this didnt
main: pinenut onion stuffed chicken leg with lemon apricot glazed ham dressing
rub chicken leg with salt and oilve oil, stuff with mix, glaze with apricot syrup, wrap in ham and bake with lemon slice and rosemary
mix: 1 finely diced onion, minced garlic, salt, pepper, pinenuts
made it up as i went along, but it turned out perfect.
drizzled it with chicken stock while it slow cooked in the oven
took about 2 hours
can see the stuffing
served with lime leaf and lime garnish, and peas boiled in lemon juice. if i have more time in future, i ll make a gravy
ummm.
dessert was Grand Marnier pudding with sticky dates, fresh mandarin, mandarin with white chocolate glaze and whipped cream.
desserts arent really my strong point haha
love lommy, my willing guinea pig!
now that i m properly fed and watered, going to dye my hair
my visible roots are annoying me to no end!
