clare, you finally have someone to join you in the ranks of the big 20!

celebrated by going to a theatre restaurant, Witches in Britches. it was great, felt like we were celebrating Halloween all over again!

because i came straight from my microbiology paper in the day, didnt have time to dress up in gothic costume as initially planned.

i wore a hervelvetvase dress, brown stockings and an awesome denim jacket with the prettiest pearl beading with silver thread. i saw this jacket in Retrostar and couldnt resist, though it was too big and makes me look about 10 pounds larger. felt like a throwback from the eighties with the super fluffed hair, eyeshadow and ankle boots. LOL

it must be nice to work in a theatre restaurant, where you can dress up everyday and play a character straight out of the Adam's family!
dont want to spoil anything in case anyone ever feels like going, but the first 5 minutes is rather.. breathtaking. LOL!

i have caught occult fever, going for the Ned Kelly gaol tour on friday
apparently that one is REALLY scary.

i cant wait!

the big 20

in the interest of procrastination, i wrote a list of things to do by the time i am 20.

the big 20. GASP. its so surreal. two decades.

i still remember when i thought 18 was old.
i complained to C before that i cant quite keep track of my age, after all it changes every year
but i guess because this is the BIG TWENTY it has stuck in my head.
oh woe.

anyway i have 19 days to complete this list.
!!!!

1. stop flipping the finger at people, which is a bad habit i cant quite kick from my younger days

2. please please please god let me learn how to hold my drink. randall quite helpfully pointed out yesterday that i am 'actually quite alright, as long as (i) dont start and have a drink, cause then its allllllllll the way'. which is quite true, but now i want to learn how to have a few drinks and STOP before i m finding another middle aged security guard rather dashing.
oh woe.

i blame my Mad Monks days for this 'all ye can drink, me hearties!' attitude

3. do something for my parents before dad goes back to singapore. a dinner? a party? a haircut?

4. learn to be the perfect hostess and stop getting pedantic when someone doesnt RSVP. and cut down party to-do lists to one a4 sheet maximum.
ARRGH BLOOD BOIL....... simmerrr......... chilllllll

5. Consider, note i said consider!, getting a fixed D or savings account. with some savings. when i say some, i mean more that 50 bucks. which wont even buy me a decent umbrella when a rainy day comes.

6. a make-over! girls, i need your help for this. lots of heavy metal and no more dresses. i m sick of dresses! I WANT THE PANTS.

7. get excited about finishing school AGAINNNNN even though i already graduated from gloria starr and can recite the 6 Ps of personal marketing in my sleep while dreaming about meeting Song Seung Heon in the middle of the outback with a broken down Lamborgini (see below), and be grateful that at least my parents care enough about my personal state to send me, WITHOUT being bitter that it will cut into my Gold coast holiday.



8. Care more about my eyebrows. even though the right side is not symmetrical to the left, i cant just give up on them and let them become unruly. i have to TAME and CONQUER all ye wild hairs

9. clean my room and cull my wardrobe. stop buying hideous clothes just because they are on sale!

10. maintain a sense of mystery about my person even though i was born talkative and have a public blog. PHOON, BE AN ENIGMA. be the engima! you gotta want it phoon!

okay this list has degenerated into silliness. lol

james just rang to inform me that tomorrow's microbiology paper has a whole section on virology, which prior to this i had decided not to study cause i thought it was unimportant.

1. i just realised that Bubble has the same birthday as my mom: nov 15!

2. my jeans might look better ripped. or... it might not. to rip or not to rip, that is the question

3. i cancelled the dinner booking at Court House hotel, what if they hold a grudge and 86ed me from their doors forever? i ve only been banned from one place ever, which was a library when i was 9, and it wasnt a pleasant experience.

4. its silly of my parents not to employ a maid because the last one ran away with jewellery and stuff. i need to iron what i want to wear tomorrow, and dammit i want someone to do it for me

5. i might have hit 3000 calories intake today because i m pretty sure the Baci chocolate box was full to begin with. :(

6. when is clare going to update hervelvetvase, i want to see her new haircut

had dinner at ezard last night
and oh man, finding parking on a friday night near Flinders Ln is impossible!
was late cause no roadside was availble and the closest multistorey had such a small entrance i thought it was for motorbikes. SERIOUSLY. my car had like an inch either side to navigate. took me about 10 minutes to navigate 20 metres, but no scratches!
haha

so sad C's leaving melbourne, i want to fit in as many things with her as possible, but everyone's so busy this time of the year. plus she's packing like a mad woman to ship her things back to singapore

i quite enjoyed ezard last night, even though the food wasnt as great.
nice and chill catching up with friends

but the garlic infused olive oil thing is too die for

i would seriously go back to ezard and just eat their bread and condiments

wore the usual basics i have been living in lately; the grey American Apparel tank and Bisonte shorts, plus the blazer of a Simona cream suit from David Jones i bought on a recent shopping trip, and a Chanel 2.55. i love my shoes and they look totally this season, even though i bought them on sale at some old lady footwear shop like homy ped and the like years ago. lol

fashion really does come around doesnt it



i LOVEDLOVEDLOVED my entrees. jo wyn and i had yellowfin tuna sashimi with wasabi and bonito pannacotta, soy mirin dressing and shiso leaf. the dish is so yummy! i liked it better than yellowfin at Nobu. clare had gratinated potato gnocchi, caramelised shallots, pear, walnuts and parmesan cheese crumble. i detest that cheddar cheesy taste. bleh.





the oyster shooter was very good. i m not quite sure what accompanied the oyster besides wasibi, mirin, sakae and rice wine, (fired off by the chef so i wasnt drinking and driving LOL), but it was delish. had some green tea noodle roll after the shooter, which rounded off the tastes very very well.

omg i might be drooling on my laptop




the mains were less impressive, i had the sumac spiced lamb cutlets with eggplant two ways, perisian fetta, sweet and sour pomegranate and lemon which wasnt bad but nothing to rave about. as was desserts.

sooooooo....ezard would be about a 6?

its a miracle i didnt loose the massive textbook i was carrying
but i somehow went into an asian grocers and bought 50 bucks worth of food
unintentionally!

well at least lunch tomorrow is sorted!

im sitting here in my room the day after my first exam with a tub of Dolce Freddo's roche gelato and kicking up my heels.
finally i get to spend time here after studying at tracey's and downstairs for the past few weeks.

was going to take some pics of the new clothes i ve picked up, but unfortunately my hair looks like it has been visited by the flyaway fairy. maybe tomorrow?

must be the first day in a month i havent seen tracey and randall.

Funny story about the Carven bag/briefcase, my dad bought it for me a few days ago after i told him i was going to make over my image to become more androgynous. i was happy and thought, yeah it ll make a nice uni bag whatever, and chucked it somewhere in my room. Then i told mom when she rang and she was like; wow your dad is really nice to you! i was like '??', so i googled the brand, had a mini heart attack, and put it back in the dustbag to place on my shelf.

gulp. well its not really my fault, i dont follow paris fashion much.

but i did check out Berlin fashion week photos, and look!

i did tutor my really cute year 10 student today. but the slutty pants were a coincidence! i swear.

mom flew off for a 2 week holiday today
in my exam period!
whoever said the life of a tai tai is overrated, is WRONG.
i want to be like my mom and just fly overseas to shop anytime she pleases.

on a side note though, how bad is the economy!
i mean she could just get a singapore airlines ticket like THAT. snaps.
guess nobody is holidaying much.

i should really change all my singapore dollars to australian $ while the dollar is almost 1 to 1.
